Code of Conduct Detailed
- Expected behavior includes, but is not limited to:
- Consent, which has the support of our whole community.
- Be considerate and respectful of fellow camp members, our community and space.
- Refrain from non-consensual demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior or speech.
- Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow community members safety.
- Unacceptable behavior includes but is not limited to:
- Predatory behavior, defined as any unwanted and non-consensual form of the following: intimidation, harassment, stalking, verbal or physical abuse, violence against people or other’s property.
- Non-consensual physical contact, including unwelcome sexual interaction.
- Abuse or neglect of Syncytium and community member’s property, physical or otherwise, such as vandalism, disrespecting tools, theft of property, not putting trash in a proper receptacles or impersonating a lead or event organizers.
- Disrespecting the community surrounding our spaces or events such as dumping trash in local dumpsters, trespassing, disrespecting our neighbors, or violations of the city’s sound ordinance.
- Wanton, flagrant, or repeated disregard for one’s own or others safety or well-being in a manner that demands the intervention of other participants, community members, volunteers or outside agencies, such as intervention by local law enforcement or fire department staff.
- Repeated or egregious violations of any and all policies put in effect by the Syncytium Council.
Reporting and Enforcement
- If you see something happening, first speak up.
- If that doesn’t work, or you wish to reach out, please reach out to the Syncytium Council.

- Reports will be confidential but not anonymous as we may need to reach out with further questions.
- Please include, who, what, when, where, witnesses
- Reports will be archived for future reference.
- Violations will be reviewed on a case by case basis by the council.
- The first steps are generally a sit down with the offending individual, which may include commitments to following the guidelines going forward.
- Violations including a council member, will be held by the remaining council.
- Repeated or flagrant violations of our code of conduct will result in banishment from our space, parties, etc.
- We have a zero tolerance for sexual assault, sexual abuse, or non-consensual substance administration.
What are the results for the reporting process?
- Any of the following:
- Temporary or permanent banishment
- A sit-down with the offending member
- Probationary period
- A commitment to change
- Commitment to counseling, therapy, or rehab
- Other situationally appropriate recourse
